Catarina Casqueiro and Tiago Coelho, choreographers and performers, have been working together in contemporary dance since 2019. In recent years, they have presented their creations at various national and international festivals. Among their performances, special highlights include the Quinzena de Dança de Almada (Portugal), Masdanza (Spain), International Choreographic Competition Hannover (Germany), and StrayBirds Dance Platform (Taiwan).
In 2021, they premiered “Deux Same,” the closing performance of the Quinzena de Dança de Almada, at the invitation of the Companhia de Dança de Almada.
The following year, they created “Matiik,” further solidifying their artistic journey, with presentations at various international stages such as the Jerusalem International Dance Competition (Israel), the Daejeon New Dance International Festival (South Korea), and SoloDuo (Germany), where they received the Audience Award.
In 2023, they premiered “Matomari No Nai” at the SoloDuo Festival (Germany). This was followed by a national and international tour, with highlights including the Quinzena de Dança de Almada (Portugal), StrayBirds Dance Platform (Taiwan), Masdanza (Spain), Šibenik Dance Festival (Croatia), and the International Contemporary Dance Festival of Mexico City (Mexico). The creation received several awards, including 1st place at Prospettiva Danza (Italy), seven awards at the Festival Teatri Riflessi (Italy), including 1st place, the Audience Award, and the Critics’Award, as well as 3rd place and the Audience Award at the International Choreographic Competition Linkage (Bulgaria). In 2025, the performance will be presented in Italy, Malta, and the United States.
In 2024, they premiered “Forget Me Not” at the Quinzena de Dança de Almada, supported by the European Fund for Emerging Artists. The performance was also presented at the Aerowaves Festival in Sofia (Bulgaria), with upcoming performances scheduled in Italy and Malta in 2025.
